Manually triggering an update to your card terminal
Please remember that you should keep your machine powered up and connected to comms at all times, 24/07. This will ensure that any important updates will be applied automatically; failure to do so could prevent your terminal from operating.
If you are expecting or have requested a change to config or software, you can manually trigger a download by following this process:
iCT and iWL products
- Press the bottom left menu button twice
- Tab down to select “Select Function” then press green ENTER key
- Type in 81 the green ENTER key
- Enter your four-digit Supervisor Code and press green ENTER key twice
MOVE5000
- Press the menu button twice (silver button with black dot, top right)
- Select Supervisor
- Type in your four-digit Supervisor Code and press green button
- Select “Contact Gems” and press green button
Updating your terminal after a BAD MAC Error
The following should only be carried out if you have received a BAD MAC error on your terminal.
Note: This process will reset the MAC on your terminal. If the BAD MAC message persists on the next transaction you attempt, please call our technical helpdesk on 03457 616263, option 1 then option 1 again, so we can also reset the MAC on our side.
MOVE5000
- Press the top right button (grey key) twice
- Select “Supervisor Menu”
- Type your Supervisor Code and press Enter (green key)
- Select “Helpdesk Menu”
- Select “Select Function”
- Type in 32 and press Enter(green key)
- It will ask “Reset MAC Key ” – if so press Enter (green key)
- If it asks to reset any other MAC Key – such as American Express - say No (yellow key)
Other Ingenico Devices (iCT/iWL)
- Press MENU button until the screen displays “SYSTEM MENU”
- Tab to select “Select Function” then press Enter key (green key)
- It will ask you to
enter function
- type in 32 and press Enter key (green key) - Type your Supervisor Code and press Enter (green key)
- It will ask “Reset MAC Key ” – if so press Enter (green key)
- If it asks to reset any other MAC Keys – such as American Express – press Clear (yellow key)
