Refunding a Transaction

If a customer requires a refund for a transaction processed on My Business Hub you are able to easily issue a refund from the Transactions page. By selecting the original transaction My Business Hub will offer you the option to refund at the bottom of the transactions breakdown section. Transactions can only be refunded once they have been settled, unsettled transactions will need to be voided

With My Business Hub you are able to process two types of refunds:

    Full refund

    A full refund is one that returns the total value of a transaction to a customer in a single refund. To process a full refund select the transaction to be refunded, press “Refund” and then select “Full refund”.

    1. Search transactions using the transaction reference number.
    2. Tap “Refund”.
    3. Select “Full refund” and tap “refund”.
    4. Enter your password when prompted and press “submit”.
    5. Insert or present card or payment device when prompted (card refunds only).
    6. Select receipt option.

    The transaction will now have been successfully refunded. 

    Did you know...

    To simplify a refund, you can search for a transaction using the Transaction reference number found on the customer receipt. 

    Partial refund

    For transactions that contain multiple items you are able to refund just the value of selected items. To process a Partial refund selected to transaction to be refunded and press “Refund” and then select “Partial refund”.

    1. Search transactions using the transaction reference number.
    2. Tap “Refund”.
    3. Select “Partial refund” and tap “refund”.
    4. Enter your password when prompted and press “submit”.
    5. Insert or present card or payment device when prompted (card refunds only).
    6. Select receipt option.

    The selected items will now have been refunded. 

    Searching transactions

    When carrying out a refund on a historical transaction, rather than having to manually look up a transaction you are able to search for the transaction from your transaction history.

    To search for a transaction simply enter the transaction reference number, which can be found at the bottom of the customer receipt, into the search bar in the top right of the transactions page.
